You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it — changing your password immediately signs out every existing session.

PistonAI has a free tier and paid plans. The current plans and prices are shown on the plans page. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

The free tier includes 1 vehicle, service logs and reminders, and 5 AI requests per month. Paid plans raise these limits and unlock features such as predictive maintenance and advanced analysis. Limits are enforced by our servers, not just hidden in the interface.

Cancelling. When you cancel a paid plan it stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then does not renew. You keep your paid features until then. If instead you delete your account, we cancel your subscription immediately first — there would be no account left to serve the rest of the period to — and then erase your data.

Refunds. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. If something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us and we will sort it out.

Prices can change. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.

PistonAI reads data from your vehicle over a standard OBD-II adapter: live sensor values, diagnostic trouble codes and vehicle information. Reading is passive and does not modify the vehicle.

PistonAI does not write to, tune or reprogram any ECU. That functionality was removed. It could not write a working calibration to a manufacturer ECU, and offering an operation that cannot succeed — and that can lock an ECU out of its own diagnostic session on repeated attempts — is not something we are willing to ship. Do not use this application expecting to modify a vehicle.

Clearing a diagnostic trouble code does not repair the fault that caused it. A code that keeps returning is telling you something.

Diagnostics, recommendations, health scores, value estimates and service analysis are generated by software, including AI models. They can be wrong, and they can be confidently wrong. They are general information, not the advice of a qualified mechanic, engineer or valuer.

Always verify anything that matters — particularly anything affecting safety, roadworthiness or a purchase decision — before acting on it.

Your vehicles, service records, diagnostic data, notes, photos and documents remain yours. You give us the permission we need to store, process and display that content in order to run the service for you — nothing more. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload.

You agree not to:

• break the law, or use PistonAI to help anyone else do so;
• attempt to bypass plan limits, authentication, rate limits or any other technical restriction;
• access accounts, vehicles or data that are not yours, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
• upload malware, or anything abusive, defamatory or infringing;
• scrape or resell the service or its data, or use it to build a competing product.

We work to keep PistonAI running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change is significant and affects a paid plan, we will give you notice.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. PistonAI is not a backup service for your records.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or loss of use of a vehicle. Where liability can be limited, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or, where the Australian Consumer Law applies, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

This is the limit of what we can offer on ECU writes, which is why the warnings above matter.

You can stop using PistonAI at any time, and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to act on, or that is being used in a way that puts other users or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and if a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use PistonAI after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You may also have rights under the law of the country you live in, and nothing here takes those away.
